…networked media are everywhere in our everyday lives; often they are blatant, sometimes subtle.

FreeSoftware

Here’s a list of free software that I use regularly, in particular free software that is multi-platform so that everyone can start to benefit from free software.

Using free software on a non-free Operating System is a start so that if you decide to move away from that nasty proprietary OS you have the advantage of being familiar with the software… Plus your existing data files can usually be moved across with little fuss!

(I also have a page where I wrote some thoughts about some GNU/Linux things).

So I will start with some of the more common software which you might already know about and progress to some other software you might like to consider.

Finally at the end is some free MS-windows-only software I’ve found that you might like to try out. There’s a couple of gnu/linux or macOS only apps, too.

Support free software by using it, and if you like it consider supporting the Free Software Foundation who started the fight against proprietary software madness.

As always, feel free to give me a buzz if there’s something you think should be on this list.
